The Way Ahead
Throughout November 23
Pete Gilbert and Paula Mitchell give very different perspectives on painting the landscape, though both live and work in the local area.
Both enjoy working plein air which shows in the immediacy of their work and their ability to capture those moments when the landscape lights up.
Atmospheric Landscapes
Throughout October
Wild and Free. In this mixed exhibition the theme is atmospheric landscapes with works from Hamish Herd, Alison Johnson, Sheryl Roberts and for the first time Ben Payne.
Mike Hall – Summer Days
Throughout September 23
Mike Hall is the master of portraying light in the landscape. In this latest collection, we have noticed that there is more emphasis on the abstract elements in the compositions with greater geometric designs, brighter colours and stronger contrasts. Through the interplay of light and shadow he evokes the warmth of Summer Days.
Barry Peckham ROI RSMA SEA
Throughout August 23
Barry has had a long career as a professional artist and is now recognized as one of the finest contemporary artists in Britain today. He is a Member of the Royal Institute of Oil Paintings, the Royal Society of Marine Artists and the Society of Equestrian artists. Although he can turn his hand to a wide range of subjects and media, he always finds himself drawn back to the Forest he knows so well.
Marine Show
