Kingfisher Diving

This is part of a new series of paintings incorporating ideas that Nigel has been mulling over for many years. He has painted birds fading into a very atmospheric and subtle background. He says that the eye only focuses on a small area, in this case to the colourful kingfisher, and then scans the rest of the background which can be diffused.
