Sam Wilson

Sam Wilson is a Cotswolds based artist, who studied fine art at Cheltenham Art College followed by an MA in illustration & design at Kingston University. She was a freelance illustrator for 10 years before launching her own brand in 2016 of artwork, fabrics and homewares.

Sam draws the rural villages and country walks around where her studio is based which become the basis of her prints.

“My work is not literally drawn from the landscape but inspired by it. I walk almost every day and am always taking notes for ideas for a new drawing or print. I might take a woodland,, a plant or a bird I have seen as a starting point and build up a picture around it, from sketches I have made on my walks, so the work is imagined but based on real places”.
