Artist Details:Barry Peckham was born in 1945 in the New Forest where he still lives and works. He had no formal art training but started showing his work in London in 1974 and since then has risen to become recognised as one of the finest contemporary artists in Britain today.

He prefers to work directly from the subject and with the Forest on his doorstep and the Solent nearby, he has a ready source of inspiration for his landscape, marine and equestrian work. He paints mostly in oil and watercolour using confident brush strokes to display a real affinity for his subject.

He is a member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists, the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, and the Society of Equestrian Artists. He has also exhibited at the Royal Institute of Watercolour Painters, Pastel Society, Royal West of England Academy (Bristol), Royal Academy and New English Art Club. His work has won numerous prizes and is collected worldwide.
